Current Positions Available

Human Resources Manager

Provides input to Senior Management on the credit union’s strategic plan to reflect human resource activities and trends. Develops, implements, and manages the human resource function for the credit union with primary emphasis in areas of policy development, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal programs, employee relations, employee benefits, recruitment and retention strategies, record compliance, reports and statistics, counseling, orientation, and employee training and development programs. Ensures all human resource programs comply with State and Federal regulations. Acts as the credit union’s Safety Officer to comply with OSHA regulations. Effectively oversees all safety compliance and reporting for the credit union. Establishes and oversees the activity of the credit union’s Safety Committee.
 
 

Essential Functions
  1. Participate in the credit union’s long and short term strategic planning as directed by Senior Management
  2. Prepare, recommend, and manage the budget for payroll/benefits that are consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
  3. Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedure for the credit union.  Keep abreast of changing trends or regulations and react quickly to incorporate those changes into the credit union.
  4. Plan and organize activities and trainings for the credit union. 
  5. Ensure timely completion of performance reviews for all employees.
  6. Communicate credit union goals and direction with all employees and new hires, to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.
  7. Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees.  Create effective advertising strategies, utilize internet resources, and interview and evaluate candidates.  Monitor effectiveness of recruitment and coach managers in the process.
  8. Conduct employee orientations, monitor career path programs. Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  9.  Provide employee relations counseling. Participates in the conduct of investigations when             employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  10. Establish and maintain department records and reports.  Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintain company organizational chart and employee directory.
  11. Maintain employee training records.
  12. Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
  13. Represent and promote the credit union at external functions as directed by Senior Management
  14. Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures.  Prepare and maintain policies and procedures for the Employee Handbook, HR Manual, Disaster Recovery Manual, and Health & Safety Plan.  Provide guidance on managing policies.
  15. Perform benefits administration to include processing all employee benefit enrollments and/or modifications to existing enrollments, claims resolution, change reporting, reconcile and submit invoices for payment.
  16. Re-evaluates contracts for renewal with core benefit carriers for cost effectiveness.
  17. Advise managers and supervisors on desired corrective disciplinary actions, offering alternatives and objective solutions. Ensure corrective disciplinary actions are consistent with all employees throughout the credit union.
  18. Implement and annually update compensation program, rewrite job descriptions as necessary, conduct and review annual salary surveys, analyze compensation, and monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
  19. Maintain and reconcile Executive Management benefits to ensure ongoing compliance of contributions.
  20. Serve as back-up payroll administrator. Review punch detail reports to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  21. Evaluate overtime and PTO reports within the HR Department in relation to established goals. Modify or select new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect on-going improvements in efficiency of the HR Department and services performed.
  22. Develop and maintain a safety program to monitor on-going compliance with established safety guidelines, compliance with OSHA regulations, and effective communications among all facilities and personnel for safety related concerns to ensure consistency through the credit union. Select, appoint, and oversee the activities of key managers to form and serve on the credit union’s Safety Committee. Schedule annual fire extinguisher certifications for all credit union facilities.
  23. Perform safety inspections and fire extinguisher inspections at the Corporate Office. Control all chemical products available for employee use at the Corporate Office.
  24. Ensure that current and legible Global Harmonization System (GHS) and hazard assessments are available for all chemical products at the Corporate Office.  Perform an annual (GHS) inspection for the Corporate Office and all branch locations.
  25. Provide a safe working environment for all credit union employees. Develop and monitor safety programs as needed to ensure on-going safety awareness and compliance. Schedule annual fire safety training for all credit union facilities.
  26. Maintain all personnel files, W4 and I9 records, medical files, and records related to employee benefits. Ensure privacy and security for all employee records consistent with HIPAA.
  27. Maintain all employee loan files in the secured file room. Receive requests for employee loans. Reviews employment records and determine the likeliness of continued employment. Submits loan request, employee loan file, earnings, and employment status to designated employee loan officer.
  28. Review and process employee clothing allowance loan requests. Maintain and follow up with clothing allowance receipts and clothing allowance payroll allotments. Submit to the designated employee loan officer to be funded.
  29. Research, analyze, and select appropriate vendors for payroll, pre-employment assessment testing, pre-employment background investigation, COBRA administration, FSA plan administration, etc. providing the highest level of service to the credit union and employees at the lowest cost.
  30. Investigate and respond to external agencies and authorities for employee disability claims and claims for unemployment benefits.
  31. Work with the Information Technology Manager to design, implement, and maintain an intranet as the primary means of internal communication for the credit union.
  32. Select appropriate announcements, photos, and general content to add and delete from the intranet to ensure internal communication is timely and effective.
  33. Ensure all required State and Federal legal posters are available and utilized in all credit union facilities.
  34. Administers the 401(k) plan and completes yearly compliance reporting.
  35. Administers disability and worker's compensation claims.
  36. Supervise HR Administrator.
  37. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Human Resources Development or Business Management and/or an equivalent level of knowledge such as would be gained with five to ten years of experience in a Human Resources Management position is preferred. HR certification through SHRM preferred.
  2. General knowledge of employment laws and practices.‚Äč
  3. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
  4. Organizational, analytical, public relations and project management skills; ability to coordinate a variety of projects.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word and general use of computers.
  6. Proficiency in general use of modern computers and website design to update the credit union’s intranet regularly.
  7. Advanced communication skills (written and verbal).
  8. Advanced knowledge of OSHA programs, regulations, reporting, and required record keeping.
  9. Advanced management skills sufficient to counsel and advise managers and supervisors.
  10. Advanced knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) sufficient to ensure compliance throughout the credit union.
  11. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screens, which includes a credit check.

Member Service Representative

Serves to provide consistent excellent service to our walk in and phone members. Performs transactions and side duties in an accurate and timely manner. Takes an active role in cross training in the branch and participating in weekly staff meetings. Actively promotes and provides credit union products and services to our members. Will be assigned to work on projects within the branch and/or in support of other departments within the Credit Union when needed.

Essential Functions
  • Provides consistent excellent member service to all members coming in the branch and calling in on the phone.
  • Performs variety of transactions in person and over the phone, including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, purchase of monetary instruments, sale of stamps, reviewing account history, certificate transactions, IRA transactions.
  • Responsible for learning and becoming comfortable with credit union products and services available for members including, but not limited to: deposit accounts, interest bearing accounts, ATM and VISA check cards, online banking, e-statements, audio response, direct deposit and basic knowledge of loan products.
  • Provides cross selling opportunities to each member as fits their needs.
  • Responsible for learning financial institution regulations such as: BSA, Reg CC, Reg DD and Reg E and applying them.
  • Responsible for opening new accounts including certificates, IRAs and business accounts and complying with each account policy.
  • Processes cash with accuracy and security measures set in place according to policy.
  • Responsible for reading, studying and applying credit union policies and procedures as assigned.
  • Properly identifies members in the branch and over the phone.
  • Participates in routine side duties including, but not limited to: night drop processing, ATM processing, branch balancing, check stub balancing, coin shipments, TCR balancing, auditing various operations functions, keeping branch organized, supply inventory, filing, scanning and copying.
  • Complies with office safety and security guidelines and training.
  • Actively promotes credit union products and services to each member as appropriate.
  • Participates in appropriate and applicable training through the credit union library, on-site trainings, cross training to ensure job knowledge is current and up-to-date.
  • Is responsible for completing quarterly compliance training in all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience and training in the banking field working with the public and/or experience in customer service and heavy cash handling is preferred.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • General skills applicable to this position include:
    • A minimum of a beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • Advanced skills in using computers and related equipment, 10-key calculator, multi line telephone/intercom systems, and a variety of general office equipment including copy machines, scanners, and fax equipment.
    • Ability to Interact tactfully and professionally with credit union staff as well as external contacts. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with various personnel and member information.
  • Light travel is required. Travel to the various branch locations or to off-site trainings may be necessary but not regular.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screens, which include a credit report.
